Stay.com - City Travel Guide with Offline Maps App Reviews

This is my go to app when traveling. I love how I can plot my own attractions, hotels and restaurants and see them on the map in relation to one another. It really makes planning out the day much easier. I also like being able to read other peoples guides. I have found some great places that I would not have known about otherwise. This app would get 5 stars if there was a way to input the sights I want to see on a particular day and then show the best way to get to each sight from the prior sight. It would be especially useful when visiting a city for the first time.

Great that it works off the grid. Useful when it isolates the one place you are looking for and shows where you are so you can move towards your destination. But in Florence Italy there are a few places I located in the app but not in reality and some highly recommended places could not be found. Lucky our hotel is in the database.

Very functional great UI and allows creating your own custom guides and sharing with your friends!

No iphone 5 support, no easy friend finding (facebook is required). There is no way to open a shared guide link in the app

Hard to navigate . Needs a help page.

I have used Stay all over the world and this is the best tool you can have. I love the offline map function.

Maps may b useful in trip to Spain!

I like that all the information you need for your trip in a given city is all in one place and I can access it offline. Also many interesting suggestions and themes in cities that I wouldnt have though of. I use it a lot. Also fun to have friends add stuff to my list of interesting spots. Cool.

This app makes my traveling experience so nice. Its super helpful and easy and fun!

Simply the best travel app I have ever used

This is a great app for marking the places you want to visit when traveling. My only criticism is that I would like to see a scale so I can estimate distances in kilometers and miles.

Since so much of the data is user driven, not all of the top tourist destinations have ratings and summaries, but with time that will change. The user interface is very easy to use, and I love that you can download the maps for offline use (for if youre traveling abroad for example). You can even create the maps on their website if you want too, which makes it a little easier to create maps. Since it syncs with Facebook, its super easy to share and collaborate with/on maps with friends youre traveling with (or send a previous map to a friend). Theres still little issues Id like to see resolved (google maps data isnt perfect and it has trouble finding some addresses), but on the whole, this was the best app I found for creating maps that you can use on the go without cell data/gps. With either of those, I imagine it would be even more helpful.

I havent use this for actual trip yet, but I downloaded a few cities and played around with it. This is exactly what Im looking for – where I can select specific attractions and have them laid out on the map for me including my location. The interface and mechanics are great, the only reason Im giving it four stars instead of five is that I need to confirm that the list of attractions is comprehensive.

Great app! The offline map is really the big catch, since having internet on the street while traveling abroad is not always possible. Its very easy to use, update your photos, give feedback on the places youve been and creating maps to places you want to go. I highly recommend it!

Weve been using the app for several European cities on our travels. Although the app has proved useful in many instances it has also lead us astray in others. Some places mark in different areas even though its the same sight. There seems to be trouble with some of the details and we have resorted to using this app along with others I order to fact check and verify. Great to use but be weary of trusting too much

Brilliant for finding more things to do & check out than my original web searches. Will be interested in seeing how it works when out & about. Difficult to see whats what on the map when there are a lot of saved in one area.

Thanks a lot to whoever create this apps. It helps us on our trip in Europe, especially the offline map. Im still amazed how the dot can identify our position offline and show us the direction! However need to add more restaurants list nearby from fast food to fancy food.
